For more than 30 years Riding Unlimited has provided the North Texas community with affordable therapeutic horsemanship. We serve men, woman and children ages 4 and up and have provided over 30,000 therapeutic horsemanship sessions. We have partnered with Texas Woman's University and The University of North Texas to work together on research studies and provide internship opportunities and community service hours. We work with our local school districts to provide students with off-campus job opportunities and hands-on experience managing horses. Our most important role in the community is to provide a safe, fun, effective form of therapy for all ages. In addition to our therapeutic riding program, we are bringing back our Veteran's program in partnership with TWU as well as equine-assisted learning and equine-assisted psychotherapy programs.Â
Riding Unlimited it dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with physical, intellectual and emotional disabilities through the power of the horse. We turn disabilities into possibilities, one ride at a time.
We have seen a sharp increase in requests for financial assistance from families seeking therapeutic horsemanship for their loved ones. We would like to secure support for our program to assist us with making our programs available to riders with disabilities that are financially challenged.
We always need funds to care for the horses, property upkeep, and building maintenance We own our 46 acre ranch which puts an extra burden of financial responsibility on the program budget.
With the sharp increase in fuel prices and record-setting high temperatures, our feed costs have grown by 62%. We need help securing funds to feed our herd of horses, who are the cornerstone of our program and deserve the best of care.
