At Purple Light Touch Foundation, we believe that healing is possible, no matter the past. Our mission is to empower, uplift, and restore women and girls who have survived trauma, abuse, domestic violence, homelessness, sex trafficking, cancer recovery, and emotional or mental breakdowns.
Founded by survivor and resilience coach Valerie Kelso, Purple Light Touch is more than a nonprofit, it's a sanctuary where brokenness meets healing and pain turns into purpose. Valerie’s journey of overcoming abuse, homelessness, and a near-fatal car accident birthed this powerful movement of compassion, education, and empowerment. Through her leadership, we offer a holistic approach to recovery that focuses on the body, mind, and spirit.
What We Offer:
Healing Through Touch: Therapeutic massage and bodywork for women recovering from trauma, illness, and emotional pain.
Business Empowerment Classes: From product making (lotions, sugar scrubs, candles) to branding and entrepreneurship skills, we teach women how to build businesses and independence.
Life Skills & Mentorship: GED support, computer training, financial literacy, public speaking, creative arts, and emotional healing workshops.
Youth Mentorship & Support: Safe after-school mentoring programs for young girls, volunteer hours, and community engagement.
Support for Women on Probation or in Crisis: Many of our clients are referred by courts, shelters, or hospitals. We offer structure, care, and pathways to healing and purpose.
Wellness Product Line: Created from Valerie’s personal healing experience, our wellness products are handcrafted with natural ingredients and teach women how to care for themselves and others.
Every woman we serve is treated with dignity, compassion, and individualized care. Our goal is to help her see that her past does not define her future. We track each woman’s progress for a full year, helping her regain confidence, life stability, and hope.
Why We Need Your Help
Our founder has poured her heart, soul, and personal funds into sustaining the Foundation, often covering rent, supplies, and scholarships herself. Each massage at Valerie’s wellness clinic helps fund the Foundation, but it’s no longer enough to meet the growing need.

Cover facility rent and operational costs
Host a pop-up shop where our ladies can sell the products they’ve made in Entrepreneurship training
Offer scholarships for young girls to attend college or vocational training

To "Empower, Uplift, and Transform" the lives of women and girls dealing with the effects of all forms of abuse, depression, cancer and other life-altering circumstances.
We are in need of volunteers for craft and computer classes, craft supplies, mentors for our women and girls, and funds to help us keep the doors of our foundation open and allow us to serve any woman in need of aid.
