$10,000 Goal

The impact of Promise of Peace is broad and deep as our youth interns and volunteers work side by side on the farm to learn, grow, and share the chemical free , nutrition dense food that is harvested.. The POP families are experiencing more school success as they have exhibited significant improvement in focus, school attendance, communication skills, and positive behavior. The 34 youth interns that have graduated from high school, over the past four years, are all attending universities across the country. Soup It Forward is our new innovative food sharing program where we coach 10 families a season who live in food deserts with knowledge about the ingredients and recipes and then ways to cook and eat together as families. . They receive a soup kit with ingredients and cooking lessons once a month . The kits include a recipe, family engagement guide, and chemical free ingredients to cook and eat with their families. Then they also Soup IT Forward to a neighbor. The impact is amazing and is changing the way they eat and look at their diets. Our youth and their families become co creators for the solutions to the problems that they face living in a food dessert and living below the poverty line.
During the pandemic, POP began sharing and selling POP Harvest Boxes where folks could access nutrition dense food and an affordable price. Now our youth interns are harvesting and sharing the for once a week with neighbors and family members. New food gardens are popping up throughout West Dallas as we share knowledge , seeds and other resources to get growing!
Promise off Peace Gardens fills the academic and social emotional gaps that exist in youth due to lack of opportunities, resources and role models.

Our Needs

Promise of Peace Gardens is Looking for about 2-5 acres of land to establish an agricultural center to conduct leadership training and youth camps.

Promise of Peace Community Gardens is shifting as we expand our reach to offer more programming and resources to families, schools, and organizations wishing to grow food gardens. As we offer "Garden Aide" to families, schools and organizations so that they can create more food equity in our communities we are seeking sponsorships and matching funds. The year 2020 brought many challenges that we were able to to overcome and have our highest producing year in our history. Promise of Peace Gardens is seeking land to grow more food and to educate more people with self-reliant skills that are within our Earth to Table Educational programming.
