About Plaza Theatre Company
Plaza Theatre Company is a 276 seat theatre-in-the-round located at 305 S. Anglin Street in Cleburne, TX. As a community theater, the Company produces around 13 shows a year usually in the style of family comedies and musicals. PlazaCo opened in November of 2006 and is currently producing its 172nd show. The Company was the proud recipient of over 80 Column Awards including winning “Best Musical” in 2009, 2010, 2012, 2015, 2020 and “Best Play” in 2014, 2018 and 2020 in addition to being named “Best Theatre Group” by the WFAA A-List for 2011. The Company is also home to several additional programs in the Cleburne Community, including -
PLAZA ACADEMY - An after-school arts education program offering classes to youth ages 3 to 18. Classes offered include several disciplines of dance, vocal performance and musical theater.
CLEBURNE'S SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK - Now in its 8th year, Cleburne Shakes offers an annual production of a Shakespearean classic every summer in partnership with the Cleburne Chamber of Commerce.
HARMONY CONNECTION - Classes and performances where people with disabilities inhabit all roles in a production.
Mission
Our mission is to enrich the community with high quality, family entertainment that warms the heart, uplifts the spirit, and tells worthy stories. To provide volunteer opportunities for those in the community and offer educational experiences for children, teens and adults to develop artistic talents and learn the theatre craft.
Needs
As we work towards affordable entertainment and arts instruction for the entire community we are always in need of additional funds to help offset our operating costs. We are also in need of volunteers for ushering, costume construction and repair, set construction, painting and more.
