Now is the time for action!

YOU make it possible for Planned Parenthood to provide trusted, affordable healthcare in North Texas. No Matter What!

Ninety years ago, our first health center opened in Dallas, Texas. At that time, birth control was banned by politicians and women were desperate for contraception education and services. Community volunteers stepped in to fearlessly provide contraception in health centers that expanded throughout Texas.

90 years later, Planned Parenthood provides trusted healthcare from expert clinicians, medically accurate, inclusive sex education from professional educators, and a commitment to creating a world in which everyone can access quality healthcare and information to live their lives fully, without judgment.

More than 55,000 Texans visited North Texas Planned Parenthood health centers last year, including our Virtual Health Center, for affordable healthcare services including:

  • preventive wellness exams,
  • birth control (including IUDs and implants),
  • testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs),
  • breast and cervical cancer screenings,
  • HPV vaccines to prevent cervical cancer,
  • PEP and PrEP medication to prevent HIV,
  • gender-affirming hormone therapy for patients ages 18 and up,
  • and more.

Thanks to you, we are investing in our patients. Our Addison, Denton, Mesquite, and North Dallas Health Centers are new or newly renovated to provide high-quality care in updated, comfortable settings for our patients. With your support, we expanded services to now offer a patient-centered comfort care menu, rapid point-of-care testing for STIs with results available within 30 minutes, pain prevention for IUD insertions, and mid-life care services.

Additionally, nearly 900 teens and young adults participated in our health education programs in DFW last year, learning age-appropriate information about their sexual health. Your North Texas Giving Day gift provides honest, inclusive sex education to help Texans make informed decisions about their health.

We ask you to be committed to Caring for North Texas. No Matter What. — on this North Texas Giving Day.

Can we count on you?

Mission

Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas provides trusted, evidence-based sexual healthcare and education while advocating for reproductive justice, care without judgment, and access to healthcare for all.

Needs

* Texas has the highest percent of uninsured residents in the U.S. Over 5.2 million people--17.3% of the population--- are without health insurance. Texas also exceeds national poverty rates with 13.4% of Texans living below the poverty level (approx. $26,909 annually per person) (census.gov). Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas is an essential entry point into the healthcare system for tens of thousands of uninsured and low-income patients in North Texas. The majority of patients served are uninsured women of color earning incomes at or below $25,000 annually.

**Texas does not require sex education. Each year, more than 3.7 million Texas students do not receive even basic sexual health education, and of those that do, 58% receive abstinence-only education which is ineffective and stigmatizing for many teens (advocatesforyouth.org). Science-based sex education plays an important role in the health and well-being of young people. Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas provides high-quality sex education using an evidence-based approach to teaching young people about sexual health, relationships, and communication to empower young people to make informed decisions about their bodies and their lives.
