Imagine having to choose between feeding yourself or your beloved pet. Unfortunately, this is a reality for many in our community facing homelessness or financial instability. The Soup Angels Project delivers nourishing meals to neighbors in need—and ensures their beloved animals receive care, food, and dignity as well. Soup Angels envisions a community where every neighbor is nourished with dignity, supported through compassion, and uplifted by shared responsibility and hope.  Pet Pals Pack joins Soup Angels in the service of helping people and pets together.

The bond between humans and pets is powerful. Sometimes, the love of a pet is all someone has in this world. We have the opportunity to help people care for the pets they love.

Projects

  • Supporting Pet Owners:  There’s no denying the love people have for their pets.  And there’s plenty of data that shows the positive impact pets have on their owners’ mental and physical well-being.  We help pet owners care for their pets by distributing pet supplies including toys, treats, cleaning products, and grooming tools plus seasonal needs through partnerships with local food pantries, shelters, and other organizations offering social services.
  • Supporting Education:  The benefits of pet ownership and the responsibilities that come with it are important to understand at any age.  We support animal welfare education in K-12 and post-secondary classrooms to emphasize the importance of responsible pet ownership and keeping pets out of shelters.
  • Supporting Our Community:  Pets are good for the mental and physical well-being of their owners.  Providing support, encouragement, and a little kindness to pet owners in need is good for the pets, pet owners. and our community.

Testimonials

"Thank you Pet Pals Pack for the generously donated pet items and supplies that we received from your wonderful organization. Our hospice patients here at Good Shepherd Hospice will be forever grateful and blessed. Thank you from all of us here at Good Shepherd."

-Partner, Good Shepherd Hospice

"Thank you so much for what you do in helping the homes of the animals in need, specifically mine. I lost my job about a month ago and it has been hard to make ends meet. I couldn’t imagine ever giving my dogs up and it’s because of people like you that help to keep our dogs in our homes. Thank you and may God bless you."

Mission

The Pet Pals Pack was founded in 2017 by people passionate about animal welfare and pet ownership within their community. We are dedicated to promoting the social benefits of keeping pets and people together. We support ensuring that as many pets as possible are able to stay in stable, loving homes.

Our passion for supporting the community and the need for such support has grown due to the challenges we all faced with the covid-19 pandemic.

Our work is made possible by our partnerships with social service organizations in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area who help us get resources to pet owners who need it most. You can help us support pets, their families, and our community by becoming one of our valued partners.
