$50,000 Goal

POLAR has been operating as a 501(c)3 since February 2015 when we secured our nonprofit status. In 2022, we rescued and rehomed 700+ dogs and assisted in the rescue or rehome to other rescues of 50+ additional dogs. Since 2015 we have saved over 3800 pups and several cats. We work closely with local shelters and have a broad network of rescues operating on the East Coast/ Midwest. POLAR is often able to facilitate the rescue of additional Texas shelter dogs via transport. We are an all-breed rescue, and all of our rescued animals receive basic vetting, which includes, spay/neuter, vaccines, heartworm test, and treatment if found to be positive along with a microchip and chip registration. 98% of the monies raised by the rescue are used to rehabilitate the animals we rescue and operates at a 100% volunteer basis.

We support area senior citizens by matching them with our senior dogs "senior to senior" as forever fosters. We believe that animal companionship is essential to a quality of life for both the senior dogs and senior citizens. We also have placed a number of our dogs with veterans and active military personnel. We support our seniors and troops with adoption fee discounts.

Our Needs

Our goal for the 2023 campaign is $50,000. These funds are needed for heartworm testing, heartworm treatment and providing our adopters with a 6 month supply of heartworm preventative. We want all of our adopters to understand the absolute requirement of providing their pet with monthly heartworm preventative to ensure a long and healthy life. These funds also will be used to secure any and all medical treatments needed for a healthy pet. We are on course for the rescue and rehome of 800+ dogs this year.

Mission

Paws of Love Animal Rescue is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization founded in 2015 dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of abandoned, abused and neglected dogs (and occasionally cats). We focus our rescue efforts on both DFW area shelters and more rural area shelters surrounding the north, south and east Texas areas. We often work with owners who are no longer able to care for their pet. All of our rescued animals are fostered in loving homes while awaiting forever homes. We provide basic vetting to all our rescues and often are called to rescue dogs with medical and behavioral issues that we fund outside of our normal adoption fee.
