North Texas Performing Arts is dedicated to developing the character of youth through quality performing arts education and family entertainment.
The foundation of NTPA's educational model is known as the "Ten Characters" of NTPA:
1. Responsibility: Be accountable for your actions, for delivering on your commitments, and be willing to admit it when things go badly.
2. Confidence: Believe in yourself and your abilities. Know you have a gift to share.
3. Integrity: Be honest and demonstrate strong moral principles.
4. Discipline: Stay focused on what you are trying to accomplish, and show obedience to those trying to instruct and guide.
5. Gratitude: Demonstrate gratefulness for all that has been given you by your parents, teachers, and mentors.
6. Positive Attitude: Be positive about a wonderful future.
7. Leadership: Be a role model for others on and off the stage.
8. Respect: Show respect for others and their gifts. Respect for teachers, parents, and one another, and celebrate our differences.
9. Teamwork: Be a team player. Everyone has a key role to play, and every role, large and small is critical to the team's success.
10. Love one another: Show kindness and patience, and be inclusive and accepting of others.
NTPA's greatest need is funding for programming, operations, scholarships, transportation, and tickets for underserved youth in North Texas, allowing the organization to realize its vision of making the performing arts accessible and desirable to all.
In 2020, the NTPA Governing Board of Directors adopted the following diversity, equity and inclusion goals related to NTPA's vision of making the arts desirable and accessible to all: NTPA will represent the community it serves by recruiting, enrolling and retaining families; create a safe and welcoming environment for all participants including students, volunteers, staff and patrons; provide equal access to programs for all socio-economic and ability levels; and present programming that represents the demographics of Dallas and Collin County residents.
