North Texas Area Community Health Centers, Inc. (NTACHC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that was started by a group of concerned area residents, faith-based groups, and health and social services providers in 2002 to provide medical care for the medically underserved on the Northside of Fort Worth and Tarrant County. The chronic disease burden was disturbingly high in certain regions within the service area, in a large part as a result of the socioeconomic challenges faced by the community.
Twenty years later, NTACHC has three locations in Tarrant County (Arlington, Southeast Fort Worth and Northside Fort Worth) in areas that are designated as medically underserved areas. NTACHC's capacity to continue meeting the growing numbers especially at the Northside Community Health Center location, where in September 2018, NTACHC opened its new 33,800 square foot Northside Community Health Center located at 2332 Beverly Hills Drive.
The Northside Center offers comprehensive primary care services (adult, pediatric and women's health) for acute/preventative/chronic conditions, behavioral health care, a vision center, diabetes management, lab services, walk-in clinic and an in-house pharmacy. In addition to our healthcare services, it also offers medical-based education programs for patients who have chronic diseases, specifically diabetes, and other educational classes to improve overall health. NTACHC continues to grow and has plans for dental, podiatry and other specialties as well as expanding all services to all three locations.
NTACHC offers a coordinated team-based approach to healthcare, in which a team of medical professionals work together to provide our patients with primary health care (acute, chronic and preventative) and assist in arranging appropriate care with other qualified professionals and/or specialists to ensure continuity of care. They work closely with patients and their families to understand and respect their unique needs, culture, values and preferences, along with helping them learn to manage and organize their care at the level they choose. The teams at NTACHC include physicians, physician assistants, nurses, medical assistants, pharmacists, social workers, and educators. This model results in more personalized, coordinated, effective and efficient care.
While no one in our community is unaffected by the evolving crisis surrounding COVID-19, our underserved and uninsured patients are overwhelmed by the uncertainty and instability in an already challenging time. Now more than ever, your support of our medical services for our patients that are otherwise isolated, insecure, and lack resources to stay well is vital.
Your support of North Texas Area Community Health Centers (NTACHC) will help with:
Medical services for our patients including pediatrics, Women's Health and our enhanced telehealth appointments,
Counseling services for our patients who are experiencing anxiety and depression due to potential COVID-19 diagnoses,
Case management services to connect our patients with other resources that they may have lost due to this pandemic.
At North Texas Area Community Health Centers (NTACHC), our patient's health and well-being are important to us and is our priority.
Our patients are some of the most vulnerable in Tarrant County. Many of these patients have lost their jobs and are worried about how they will feed or care for their families, along with dealing with the unknown of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19. Our NTACHC team of providers is working around the clock to provide health care and comfort for these patients. Our centers have implemented telemedicine for uninterrupted service and by shortening the distance between patients and medical providers.
Community Health Centers were started as a movement to give back resources and empower communities to take care of themselves. NTACHC is focused upon continuing this heritage of community care. It is uniquely positioned to do so by providing high quality medical services, while serving as a safety net for the lower-income population, to help successfully address health disparities in our community.
