National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame

A nonprofit organization

The National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame is where history meets horsepower and fearless women take center stage. Located in the heart of Fort Worth’s Cultural District, it’s the only museum in the world that celebrates the grit, grace, and guts of the women who shaped the American West — and those breaking boundaries today. Through immersive exhibits, interactive galleries, and powerful storytelling, the Museum highlights artists, ranchers, rodeo champions, activists, and trailblazers from all walks of life. It’s not just about looking back — it’s about inspiring the next generation of unstoppable women.

Currently, the museum’s archives house more than 4000 artifacts and information about more than 750 remarkable women.

THE COWGIRL VISION:

The Cowgirl vision is to become the premier destination that ignites passion and instills pride in the pioneering spirit of women who shaped the West. We strive to be a dynamic hub of inspiration and learning, where the powerful stories of cowgirls, both past and present, resonate deeply with people of all walks of life.

THE COWGIRL MISSION:

The National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame is dedicated to honoring and celebrating the incredible legacy of women who shaped the West. We seek to inspire and educate our diverse community by showcasing the contributions of cowgirls throughout history, fostering a deeper appreciation for their influence on culture, society, and the spirit of independence. Through engaging exhibits, innovative programs, and community outreach, we strive to empower future generations to embrace the values of courage, resilience, and authenticity.

Our Needs

Since opening its doors to its current location in 2002, the National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame in Fort Worth has stood as the only museum in the world dedicated to honoring the lives and legacies of women who have shaped the American West and exemplified unwavering fortitude. Ranchers, rodeo champions, artists, writers, entrepreneurs, educators, and community leaders — these women defied expectations, broke barriers, and left an indelible mark on history.

Now,  The Cowgirl stands ready to Go Beyond to the next horizon with its 16,000 square foot expansion set to open in November 2026.

The Cowgirl is more than a collection — it is a living tribute to courage, resilience, and determination. Each honoree’s story illuminates a path for future generations, reminding us that the ethos of the cowgirl is timeless.

As The Cowgirl enters a new chapter, it is embarking on an ambitious expansion designed to elevate the mission, broaden the reach, and secure the cowgirl legacy for generations to come.

The expansion of the Cowgirl is more than additional square footage — it is a bold investment in the stories, spaces, and experiences that will define the future of the American West. Every tax-deductible gift helps create immersive galleries, dynamic gathering spaces, and new opportunities to inspire generations to come.

Your support doesn’t simply fund construction. It builds legacy.
