Mission Granbury, Inc.

A nonprofit organization

Mission Granbury is a unique community based agency that pulls together a variety of inter-related human service programs under one umbrella to provide food, shelter, advocacy, and other emergency services to at risk children, and families in Hood and surrounding counties. Offering specific, concrete and practical assistance, we strive to offer unduplicated programs and services that are essential to the well-being of our clients and our community.  Our nine programs include CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), the Ada Carey Family Violence Shelter for women and children, the weekly Food Pantry, Non-Residential Victims Assistance Program, including victims of Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence and other crimes, Emergency Assistance  Network, Senior Care, Veteran's Assistance, New Beginnings Resale Shop and the Victor S. Mercado Counseling Fund for Men.  Above all, we strive to treat each person and family with dignity and respect - assessing every individual situation and providing immediate and long term assistance to help them move toward self-sufficiency.

Our Needs

Due to the wide range of people that Mission Granbury helps, our needs are great. Consumables such as toiletries, laundry soap, cleaning supplies, and paper towels are always a need for our Ada Carey Family Violence Shelter and our Emergency Assistance Network. Window AC units, fans, and portable heaters are always needed in winter and summer. Gas gift cards are a major need for our CASA volunteers. They rack up hundreds of miles every month driving to their CASA children and their court hearings. However, our greatest need at Mission Granbury is your time. Our volunteers are the hear beat of our organization . They staff our food pantry , resale shop and provide many foster children from Hood County a voice in court as their personal Court Appointed Special Advocate and Guardian Ad Litem. We often say that without our volunteers, there would be no Mission Granbury.
