This data highlights the significant impact of cancer in the region and underscores the importance of organizations that provide support to cancer patients. The average household in American cannot handle a $400 “surprise”, much less a $2,500 deductible for insurance or lifesaving cancer treatment.
Me Squared Cancer Foundation was established in 2019 by Mimi Tran following her diagnosis with breast cancer. Mimi recognized her privilege in having the financial means, emotional support, and educational resources needed to navigate her cancer journey. During her treatment, Mimi was deeply troubled by a critical question: “What about those who lack the resources I have?”
At Me Squared Cancer Foundation, we believe that no one’s financial situation should dictate their access to life-saving cancer treatment. We offer financial grants of up to $3,500 to newly diagnosed adult cancer patients (within the past 12 months) in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area.
We just celebrated our 5 Years Anniversary! In those 5 years, we have raised $1.4 million dollars, helping over 600 newly diagnosed cancer patients.
Me Squared Cancer Foundation helps adults with newly diagnosed cancer in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and surrounding counties by providing cancer-related educational and financial assistance to ease their journey and to give them hope.
A person's financial situation should not determine whether they get their cancer treatment or not. Me Squared is working to help eliminate this problem one person at a time.
Me Squared Cancer Foundation needs to raise funds to continue to help adult cancer patients who either do not have health insurance or are unable to pay their large insurance deductibles. Your generous donation in any amount will directly and immediately impact the journey of a cancer patient in DFW. Our goal is to raise $19,500 through North Texas Giving Campaign, which will change the life of up to 10 people.
Me Squared Cancer Foundation operates on minimal funds. Paid employees consist of the Executive Director, a part-time Marketing Director, and Lead Patient Advocate. All other aspects of the organization are run by volunteers. 81% of all funds raised will go directly to cancer patients.
At Me Squared Cancer Foundation, we service those at 250% poverty level or below. Clients must live in one of the 11 counties in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. We do not discriminate by gender, race or ethnicity, type of cancer, or whether someone is insured or uninsured.
