In the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area, approximately 40,000 new cancer cases are diagnosed each year. This data highlights the significant impact of cancer in the region and underscores the importance of organizations that provide support to cancer patients.  The average household in American cannot handle a $400 “surprise”, much less a $2,500 deductible for insurance or lifesaving cancer treatment.

Me Squared Cancer Foundation was established in 2019 by Mimi Tran following her diagnosis with breast cancer. Mimi recognized her privilege in having the financial means, emotional support, and educational resources needed to navigate her cancer journey. During her treatment, Mimi was deeply troubled by a critical question: “What about those who lack the resources I have?”

At Me Squared Cancer Foundation, we believe that no one’s financial situation should dictate their access to life-saving cancer treatment. We offer financial grants of up to $2,500 to newly diagnosed adult cancer patients (within 6 months) in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area.

We just celebrated our 6 Years Anniversary!  In those 6 years, we have raised $1.8 million dollars, helping over 1000 newly diagnosed cancer patients.

Giving Activity

Mission

Me Squared Cancer Foundation helps adults with newly diagnosed cancer in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and surrounding counties by providing cancer-related educational and financial assistance to ease their journey and to give them hope.

A person's financial situation should not determine whether they get their cancer treatment or not. Me Squared is working to help eliminate this problem one person at a time.

Needs

Your Gift Makes Treatment Possible

A cancer diagnosis doesn't just change a person's health. It can create an immediate financial crisis. Even with health insurance, deductibles, co-pays, imaging, prescriptions, and other out-of-pocket medical expenses can quickly become overwhelming.

Last year, generous supporters helped Me Squared Cancer Foundation raise more than $21,000 through North Texas Giving Day. Those gifts provided critical financial assistance to newly diagnosed cancer patients throughout North Texas, allowing them to begin or continue treatment without unnecessary financial barriers.

This year, our goal is to raise $25,000, enough to help even more patients access the care they need when they need it most.

Every dollar donated helps pay eligible medical expenses directly to healthcare providers, reducing financial stress so patients can focus on healing. Because Me Squared Cancer Foundation operates with a lean staff and the support of dedicated volunteers, nearly 80 cents of every dollar goes directly toward patient grants.

Whether you give $10 or $2,500, your generosity provides more than financial assistance. It gives hope, relieves stress, and reminds someone facing cancer that they are not alone.

Equity Statement

Me Squared Cancer Foundation is committed to ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent eligible patients from accessing cancer treatment. We serve adults who have been newly diagnosed with cancer, are living at or below 250% of the Federal Poverty Level, and reside within our 11-county North Texas service area.

We are committed to serving all eligible patients with dignity and respect, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, cancer diagnosis, insurance status, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or religious affiliation. Our goal is to provide equitable access to financial assistance so every eligible patient has the opportunity to focus on healing, not financial hardship.
