Lone Star Wind Orchestra (LSWO) is a non-profit organization and premier concert producer with one of Dallas’ most diverse educational programs mentoring the youth of our community. Entering the 19th Season of concerts of wind band music from classical works, to film scores, to new works commissioned by an inclusive community of composers will be performed in world-class venues.

For eighteen (18) years, LSWO's professional musicians and celebrated guest soloists have presented nearly one hundred unique concerts under the baton of Eugene Migliaro Corporon, Music Director and Conductor of the Lone Star Wind Orchestra and Regents Professor of Music at the world-famous University of North Texas School of Music. Thousands of devoted music lovers, arts patrons, area students, and audiences discovering the thrill of live music for the first time find a home with the Lone Star Wind Orchestra.

LSWO founders Robert Clark, Barry Knezek, and Christopher Tucker, musicians and music enthusiasts envisioned an exceptional ensemble of professional musicians who are industry leaders in wind band music. The resulting Lone Star Wind Orchestra values all musicians as talented professionals worthy of the “first chair”. LSWO’s guiding principle results in an approach unique among world-class orchestras.  Musicians rotate roles and musical assignments at every concert. LSWO not only presents exceptional work, it also commissions and premiers dynamic new work by diverse, world-renowned composers.

LSWO’s principles are adding to the genre’s catalog of work created specifically for wind orchestras. LSWO performs at international, national, and local clinics and conventions including the World Association of Symphonic Bands and Ensembles (WASBE) International Convention, Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic, Arkansas Bandmasters Convention, and Texas Bandmasters Convention.
