Love For Kids, Inc.

Love For Kids, Inc. has been serving children, families, seniors, and individuals with special needs across North Texas for more than 51 years. Since 1975, our mission has remained focused on providing hope, resources, and opportunities to those who need them most.

Today, Love For Kids operates a variety of programs and community initiatives designed to strengthen families and improve quality of life throughout North Texas. Through the generosity of donors, volunteers, and community partners, we continue to expand our reach and impact each year.

Our Impact

Since our founding, Love For Kids has provided services to:

• More than 174,000 children from low-income families
• More than 61,000 senior citizens
• Over 41,000 children with medical needs

Today, Love For Kids serves thousands of North Texas families annually through food assistance, special needs programming, holiday support, and community outreach initiatives.

We Are 1 Community (WR1) Food Blessings

One of our most impactful initiatives is We Are 1 Community (WR1), which hosts monthly Food Blessings drive-thru food distributions for families experiencing food insecurity. These events provide nutritious food, household essentials, and community resources to individuals and families throughout North Texas.

Each month, WR1 Food Blessings serves approximately 5,000 individuals, helping ensure that children, seniors, and families have access to the resources they need during challenging times.

Signature Annual Programs & Events

All Kids Count

All Kids Count is a free community event designed for children with special needs and their families. Each year, approximately 800 children and family members attend this special event, connecting families with valuable resources, support organizations, activities, entertainment, and opportunities designed to help every child thrive.

Children's Holiday Event

For many families, the holidays can be a difficult time financially. Love For Kids' annual Children's Holiday Event serves approximately 1,200 children from Title I schools each year through holiday gifts, meals, entertainment, and community support, helping create joyful memories during the holiday season.

Toy Sort Program

Each year, volunteers come together through our Toy Sort initiative to organize and prepare thousands of donated toys that support our Children's Holiday Event and other community outreach efforts. This program helps ensure that children throughout North Texas experience the excitement and joy of receiving gifts during the holiday season.

Palette to Palate

Palette to Palate is Love For Kids' premier annual fundraising event, bringing together community leaders, supporters, artists, culinary professionals, wineries, and local businesses for an unforgettable evening celebrating philanthropy, creativity, food, wine, and fashion. Funds raised through this event directly support Love For Kids programs serving children and families throughout North Texas.

Love For Kids is committed to responsible stewardship of every donation entrusted to our organization. Community support allows us to continue providing meaningful programs, essential resources, and life-changing opportunities for children, families, seniors, and individuals with special needs across North Texas.

As we celebrate more than five decades of service, Love For Kids remains dedicated to building stronger families, healthier communities, and brighter futures for generations to come.

Our Needs

To continue growing the impact of our WR1 Food Blessings program and expand access to essential resources throughout North Texas, Love For Kids is seeking funding toward the purchase of a pre-owned Dodge ProMaster cargo van ($10,000).

Each month, WR1 Food Blessings serves approximately 5,000 individuals experiencing food insecurity. A dedicated cargo van would allow our team to safely and efficiently transport food, supplies, and event materials needed to operate these large-scale community distributions.

In addition to supporting food distributions, the van will help launch a mobile clothing closet, allowing Love For Kids to bring clothing and other essential items directly to underserved communities and families facing financial hardship. This expanded outreach will help us meet people where they are and remove barriers to accessing needed resources.

Currently, transportation limitations create challenges in moving donated goods and essential resources to the families who depend on our services. A reliable cargo van would increase operational efficiency, reduce transportation costs, expand outreach capabilities, and help ensure that food, clothing, and other critical supplies reach those who need them most.
