LipGloss for Love was founded in 2015 because teen dating violence education was not being addressed in the South Dallas Community and schools. Due to the rationalization of normalizing domestic violence in teens and young adults and understanding the long-term effects abuse can have on an individual and their families, Our goal is to educate, raise awareness, provide prevention strategies, and assist in the aftercare of survivors.
Since 2015, Lip Gloss for Love has impacted over thousands of children, youth, teens, young adults, and adults both male and female practical education and experimental learning. Our focus is the quality and impact of the education we provide in the programs, partnerships, and clients we serve and educate.
LipGloss For Love's teens against dating violence education program is designed to provide ongoing outreach services. Our educational program targets children and teens (ages 10-18) from all ethnic groups, all genders, and all income levels in the South Dallas/ Fair Park Community. Our organization's goal is to decrease the chances of our teens becoming a statistic of domestic violence.
Our Needs
Lip Gloss for Love has been steadily increasing program participants due to our success of community program collaborations with community partners. Because our program expenses and operation costs have increased, we need more funding for capacity building and program expansion.
In addition, with the success of our programs, our organization has had to implement victim services for our program participants and community referrals. Our victim services include temporary shelter referrals, case management, essential identifying documents, food, diapers, clothing, and transportation.
