Currently, we need funds to help increase Lazarus House Initiative's overall efficiency. We specifically need funds to help cover program expenses that are not exclusively covered by our contracts and grants and to provide the unrestricted funds necessary for our Lazarus Point, which is a new project through which we make home ownership a reality for single parents with moderately-low to low-incomes who successfully complete our self-sufficiency program and desire and are ready for home ownership.
To empower individuals towards independence and self-sufficiency via our person-centered holistic housing, employment/vocational, youth programming and empowerment services by equipping them with skills necessary to break free from and to break through barriers to affordable housing, social inclusion, social upward mobility, and quality learning experiences via three outreaches that target specific groups:
• Housing Empowerment & Liberation Program (HELP) targets persons who are fleeing domestic violence, are at-risk for homelessness, and/or are homeless and are willing to commit to working our 12-24 month self-sufficiency program
• Employment and Vocational Empowerment Services (EVES) target adults and youth with and without disabilities who are eager to mobilize their potential towards meaningful employment opportunities and vocations
• Youth Empowerment & Liberation Program (YELP) target "incorrigible" youth, teen parents, and youth with disabilities who are willing to learn skills essential for matriculating society's major systems, acclimating societal norms, and becoming productive and contributing societal members
