Keep Mesquite Beautiful

A nonprofit organization

Keep Mesquite Beautiful mobilizes volunteers, students, and civic partners to make our city cleaner, greener, and more connected. Each year, our team organizes over 15 events, from community cleanups and recycling drives to native plantings and youth-led beautification projects.

In the past year, volunteers helped:

  • Remove 15+ tons of litter from Mesquite streets and parks

  • Recycle over 40,000 pounds of electronics and household materials

  • Deliver environmental education to hundreds of students across Mesquite ISD

  • Support the revitalization of public spaces like the Butterfly Trail at Paschall Park

Our Youth Environmental Leaders program also introduces teens to sustainability careers and civic action through scholarships, workshops, and campus Green Teams.

Our Needs

Keep Mesquite Beautiful is ready to grow—but we need your help to take the next step. This year, we’re seeking support to expand our reach across six high-impact program areas:

  • Mini-grants for student Green Teams across Mesquite schools

  • Citywide recycling and cleanup events engaging over 1,000 volunteers

  • Public art and pollinator spaces, including the Butterfly Trail and downtown beautification

  • Green Business recognition to unite commerce and community

  • Youth scholarships to support future environmental leaders

  • Operations support to help our small staff scale impact across the city

Your gift helps power our part-time Executive Director, equip student leaders, recognize local businesses, and beautify the spaces we all share. Together, we can make Mesquite not just cleaner—but prouder, greener, and more connected.

Mission

Keep Mesquite Beautiful's mission is to inspire, educate, and engage the Mesquite community to recycle, reduce litter, and beautify the city. Our vision is to make Mesquite the cleanest, most beautiful city in which to live, work, and visit.

Together with its board, executive director, and volunteers, this all-volunteer non-profit community 501(c)3 organization meets its goals of litter prevention, beautification, reduction of use of resources, reuse of resources, and recycling through education and outreach opportunities in Mesquite.
