About Us
Holy Spirit Catholic Parish sees the image of God Himself in each person and “recognizes our responsibility to give worship to God, reverence to all people, respect to all of creation and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. We are strengthened by the presence of God in our lives as we commit to working together to be of service to our community and the world around us." Our church provides physical and spiritual assistance to the communities in southwest Dallas County area.
Our Needs
Through this campaign we are hoping to fund several much-needed items and updates. Our parish recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, which means our buildings are also celebrating 50 years of service. As with everything, time has taken a toll on many of our facilities. This past year we initiated a capital campaign to address many much-needed repairs. Although we are still working towards our goal, we have secured enough funding to begin our roof project which is so desperately needed. It has taken many months to get us to this point and we are grateful for all the sacrifices our parishioners and their families have made to get us here, but we still have a long way to go. As our facilities have aged, so have several items in our parish. We are requesting assistance to replace the washer/dryer unit in our community kitchen, the washer/dryer unit and the stovetop in the rectory.
We are also wanting to update some of the doors in our community center to help facilitate the use of our center. The updating of these doors is a major concern for us but unfortunately our funding is very limited. Our community center is in use constantly with meetings, hunger services and faith formation. We hold meetings for many of our organizations all year long. We offer classes and other worship events during various times of the year and Sunday’s food and fellowship would not be possible without the center. It is a meeting place for all our parishioners and the local community.
The updating of all these items are necessities for our parish as our parish is a resource of assistance for families in the surrounding area. Please consider helping us reach our goal this year so in turn we can continue to help all those we serve in Southwest Dallas County.
