High Soaring Eagle Center, Inc.

A nonprofit organization

Imagine adults with unique intellectual abilities laughing, making friends, volunteering in their community and living life together. This is happening with over 30 adults with unique intellectual abilities at the Soaring eagle Center (SEC) located in DeSoto, Texas.

Through the SEC day program, Special Olympics teams, volunteer opportunities and social events our adults with unique intellectual abilities are learning new skills, developing new friendships and having new experiences in the community. Our programs are growing as we serve more adults in southern Dallas and northern Ellis counties.

Thanks to your generosity last year, we provided, self-contained classroom instruction with vibrant classroom resources. Thanks to your generous support we have retained our teachers and our programming.

Our Needs

Our GREATEST need is $20,000 to replace two HVAC units.

Our second greatest need is $15,000 to sponsor long range care planning for families of special needs. Planning for the future of a child can be daunting. We can help by funding scholarships so life planning for families of special needs is more accessible.

Our third greatest need is $12,000 to expand the day program. It is time to add more classes to serve more people with unique abilities.

Our fourth greatest need is $10,000 for letterman jackets and patches for each of our adults. We want to celebrate all their hard work and acknowledge their achievements.

Our fifth greatest need is $3,500 to celebrate our adult's uniqueness's with their families by catering our annual Christmas banquet.

You have the opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of these special people. Our adults, teachers and board thank you for your support!

Our mission is to provide life-long solutions for the social, educational, vocational, and residential needs of adults with unique abilities.

Our greatest need: VOLUNTEERS!

The SEC has 3 vacancies on the board of directors. We are in need of vibrant minds to continue the growth of this organization.

Do you love basketball? Do you love investing in others who have no understanding of the game and who want to be part of a team? We need a Special Olympics basketball coach to start this fall of 2023.
