$40,000 Goal

Imagine adults with unique intellectual abilities laughing, making friends, volunteering in their community and living life together. This is happening with over 45 adults with unique intellectual abilities at the Soaring eagle Center (SEC) located in DeSoto, Texas.

Through the SEC day program, Special Olympics teams, volunteer opportunities and social events our adults with unique intellectual abilities are learning new skills, developing new friendships and having new experiences in the community. Our programs are growing as we serve more adults in southern Dallas and northern Ellis counties.

Thank YOU for the ways your life and gifts have helped support the Soaring Eagle Center (SEC). How encouraging to know we share this vision: to promote and protect the best interests of adults with special needs by supporting their growth and independent living where they can enjoy a good quality of life.

Our success in providing a place of peace, growth, and life enhancement comes from the determination and generosity of all involved - workers, suppliers, and encouragers. As we prepare for North Texas Giving Day (NTGD), we reflect on what advocates like you have wrought over the years. NTGD donations have enabled us to expand and improve our facility’s activity rooms, classrooms, and offices. We use our vans regularly to bring our adults into the community of DeSoto and beyond, all thanks to generous investments into their lives.

Our Needs

As we have grown, and as we’ve been in this location for over 20 years, it’s time for some upgrades, repairs, and projects to make our facility safe and pleasing to the eye. These range from replacing broken windows to improving the facade of our building. We also want to provide our associates with the latest and greatest technology to further their development. Additional projects will enable the SEC to operate with an ever-increasing quality of service. These include investments into the celebration of our associates and teachers, equipment for bowling and basketball, and much needed life-planning assistance for our adults’ parents. This September 18, 2025, you have three opportunities to make these many goals achievable for the SEC and all the clients we serve.

1. Contribute: Your donation, small or great, will go directly to the projects outlined above and will positively impact our adults.

2. Share: Advocates want to share with others ways to upgrade our world, like assisting the Soaring Eagle Center.   Let's talk it up!

3. Plan: Mark your calendar for North Texas Giving Day, Sept. 18. Ask your friends and family about their plans to give.

Go to northtexasgivingday.org, find the SEC there, and donate online!

Our adults, teachers, parents and board thank you for your support!
