ONGOING PROJECT:
MAKE SUN SAFETY A SNAP

One in three Texans will develop skin cancer, and melanoma, the deadliest form, has nearly doubled in North Texas over the last two decades.

The good news is that up to 90% of skin cancers are preventable with proper sun safety.

Helms Hope’s Make Sun Safety a SNAP campaign is tackling this issue head-on by installing free SNAP Sunscreen Machines in popular outdoor spaces. These touchless stations make practicing sun safety easy, effective, and accessible while people are already out enjoying life. So whether you are playing pickleball, walking the dog, or spending a day at the park, protecting your skin is easy and fun!

Thanks to generous donors, four SNAP machines were deployed over the last year and will provide free sunscreen to ~100,000 people each year.
