Grateful Gratitude is a compassionate one-woman nonprofit dedicated to supporting low-income and food-insecure senior citizens in Collin County. Since October 2023, we have been privileged to serve a community of 330 seniors who need assistance in obtaining groceries and stocking their pantries. These seniors face food insecurity for a variety of reasons, often feeling overwhelmed by their circumstances. Some individuals receive less than $100 per month in SNAP benefits, which is insufficient to cover all their food needs. Others may struggle to access food pantries or are simply unable to lift the quantities of food typically offered, which can prevent them from seeking help. Tragically, many of the seniors we serve feel a sense of shame about asking for assistance.
At Grateful Gratitude, we believe in treating our seniors with dignity. That’s why we create an on-site "grocery store" experience. We provide meat, fresh produce, dry goods, snacks, drinks, and much more. Our senior "shoppers" are invited to browse and select the foods they love, making their experience thoughtful and personalized rather than sorting through pre-packaged boxes of food.
Our mission extends beyond simply providing food; we are dedicated to utilizing our donations to assist seniors in crisis, prevent evictions, offer utility assistance, and provide emergency food to those in urgent need. We strive to be a source of hope and help for our cherished seniors in the community.
