We have provided high quality early education and Pre-K readiness since 1952. We are currently serving 5th and 6th generation family members who view the Center as a tradition of excellence for young children. The Public Schools that we feed into are very vocal about the caliber of student that they receive from Good Street Learning Center and the positive impact these students bring to their Pre-K/K classrooms.
We graduate 15 - 20 students annually and receive regular feedback from 35 - 40% of the families regarding school achieveme
COVID-19 has greatly impacted the program's ability to increase enrollment, retain quality staff for continued quality learning experiences, and provide high levels of sanitation/disinfection for the learning environment.
Current facility was built in 1992 and is in need of structural upgrades.
Technology upgrades are needed to maintain family engagement and sense of belonging; to maintain open lines of communication between staff and families.
To encourage healthy self esteem; enhance growth and development; integrate early learning and character building while creating a partnership between families and program staff; and, to promote academic excellence.
As we continue to recover from the Pandemic, our special needs are:
*Qualified early education staff to re-open closed classroom and enroll children from our waiting list;
*funding to hire, retain, and equitably compensate staff; *provide tuition scholarships for temporary family emergencies; and,
* health/safety facility upgrades/repairs
