Fort Worth Youth Orchestra

A nonprofit organization

The Fort Worth Youth Orchestra provides music education through intensive training and performance opportunities of the highest caliber. FWYO is more than exceptional performances; it is music education, inspiration for young students, and music outreach. Each year, the organization serves nearly 450 talented Fort Worth-area musicians from ages 4 to 19 years through Early Childhood Music classes, an all-level Suzuki strings program, Chamber Music Ensembles, Wind Ensemble, and ensemble training in four orchestras: Junior String Orchestra, String Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra, and the premier Youth Orchestra.

FWYO students experience outstanding orchestral and chamber music instruction from Fort Worth's most respected professional musicians, perform in world-class concert halls, and develop the self-confidence and discipline necessary for a successful future. Performances at major venues include Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth, the Murchison Performance Hall at the University of North Texas, Ed Landreth Hall at Texas Christian University, I.M. Terrell Academy for STEM and Visual Performing Arts, Martin Hall at Texas Wesleyan University, the Piano Pavilion at the Kimbell, Sundance Square, and others, including other prestigious concert halls in the world while the Youth Orchestra is on international performance tours.

The Fort Worth Youth Orchestra endeavors to cultivate and nurture the musical talent of young students from all socio-economic and cultural backgrounds in the Greater Fort Worth area – an area rich in diversity and culture. Through our outreach program, we strive to provide young students the opportunity to learn how they can be actively engaged in the world of classical music.

Commitment to the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra is an investment in the future of our children, classical music, and our communities.

Our Needs

All donations made on North Texas Giving Day will support our financial aid! We believe all children should have access to a quality music education and the opportunity to study and perform music.

The FWYO board has put together a fund to match up to $12,500 in gifts for North Texas Giving Day, making your gift that much more powerful!

Mission

To promote and inspire the continuing development of musical talent in qualified area youth through intensive education in classical orchestral rooted music and performance

Needs

The FWYO supports deserving students by providing robust financial aid. This year for NTXGD, we are trying to close the gap on funding our most deserving students!
