$6,000 Goal

Funds raised by the Friends help the Library provide programs and services for all ages, update library equipment, and beautify the Library.  We meet regularly with Library leadership to discuss issues and goals so that we can assist the Library in accomplishing its mission.

The Lewisville Public Library has a beautiful facility, exciting programs, an extensive collection, helpful staff, involved patrons and more.  The Library also has a small piece of land facing Civic Circle (west) that currently just has two benches, dirt, trees and established landscaping.  It will shortly be improved with a bike rack that spells LIBRARY.

Imagine this area converted into a space with outdoor musical instruments and interactives that will offer another way to expand the minds and talents of the children and the young-at-heart adults. This area already has shade from the trees and the Library itself and will have a split-rail fence to keep children within the space.

The Friends recently committed to help to make this happen in partnership with the Library and City of Lewisville and are aiming to raise $6,000 during Library Giving Days for the project.  Thanks to the generosity of a few donors, we have a commitment for matching funds.  The first $1,500 donated during Library Giving Days will be matched dollar for dollar by these donors, multiplying the impact of your contribution!

Giving Activity

Mission

The Friends of the Lewisville Public Library is a nonprofit organization (501(c)3) dedicated to benefit the Lewisville Public Library, its employees, and the community. We support the Library by participating in outreach, raising funds at book sales, and providing funds for staff training and appreciation events.

Needs

Libraries are no longer just a place to borrow books. The Lewisville Public Library has the opportunity to modify the small piece of property facing Civic Circle. We are seeking financial support for an exciting transformation: turning an underutilized outdoor area into a vibrant, interactive space. This new environment will feature hands-on activities and creative elements designed to spark curiosity, inspire learning, and expand the minds of children—and the young at heart—who visit our library.
