About Foster College

For nearly 100 years, Foster College has been equipping men and women to live, serve, and lead with Godly influence in their communities and across the world. Founded in 1927, our story began with a simple yet profound question from Rev. L. G. Foster, Sr. to Rev. Edmond Ironside: “Will you teach me?” That single question sparked a movement to make high-quality, Christ-centered education accessible to all—an education grounded in enduring Christian values and unwavering academic excellence.

Formerly known as Southern Bible Institute & College, we have embraced a new name and renewed vision to expand our reach across the nation, honor our founders’ resilience, and prepare more generations of Christian leaders and marketplace influencers.

At Foster College, students can pursue ministry and marketplace pathways, including biblical/theological studies, general education studies, vocational concentrations, and flexible continuing education micro-courses through our MEH Center for Servant Leadership. Our graduates are prepared to serve and lead with integrity, wisdom, and a deeper application of God’s Word, whether in the pulpit, the boardroom, the classroom, or the community.

Become a Friend through FosterFirm

As Foster College approaches its 100th anniversary in 2027, we invite you to join us in shaping the next century of Christ-centered education. FosterFirm is more than a financial initiative—it is a movement to strengthen the College, expand our reach, and empower future leaders of faith and Godly influencers. By investing in FosterFirm, you help build an innovative, high-quality institution that thrives on the generosity of God’s people, less dependent on federal funding and fully equipped to impact lives, communities, and the world for generations to come.

This bold initiative advances:

  • Student Success Support – Your generosity provides scholarships, tuition relief, stipends, and work-study opportunities for low-income and underserved students. Our goal is to provide up to $2,500 per semester in aid to cover tuition, fees, and educational expenses—making a quality Christian higher education accessible to all.
  • Academic Program Development –Your gifts strengthen and expand academic programs in both ministry and marketplace pathways. This includes strategic faculty recruitment, curriculum development, and innovative program offerings such as the BS in Urban Early Elementary Education, the Church Planting concentration, and the Micro-Course Academy for continuing education.

Why Your Gift Matters

The landscape of higher education is changing rapidly. Fewer Americans identify as Christians, smaller institutions face overwhelming financial pressures, and many colleges have shifted away from faith-based teaching. Foster College stands resolute in providing biblically grounded, academically excellent education that equips students for lasting impact.

When you give to Foster College, you are not just donating to an institution, you are sowing into the Kingdom of God. Your support directly:

  • Funds scholarships and tuition relief for students in need.
  • Expands programs that prepare leaders of faith for ministry and the marketplace.
  • Enhances campus spaces and technology to better serve our students.
  • Builds a foundation for the next century of Christ-centered education.
