Founded in 2004 as the Lindy Miller Foundation, First Tee – Fort Worth was created to build character and empower kids and teens through golf. Over the past two decades, our program has grown tenfold, impacting thousands of young lives through accessible and inclusive programming. From its humble beginnings with a small staff and volunteers, to establishing partnerships with facilities like Benbrook Par-3 and the Ben Hogan Foundation, First Tee – Fort Worth has continually expanded its reach across the Fort Worth area. Milestones include the opening of the Ben Hogan Learning Centers at Rockwood Golf Course and Squaw Creek Golf Course, as well as the launch of a range facility at Briscoe Elementary, giving children from underserved communities access to golf and dedicated coaching.
Our mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing inclusive educational programs and learning experiences that build character, instill life-enhancing values, and promote healthy choices through golf. We empower youth from all backgrounds, helping them develop inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience that will guide them in all aspects of life.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are at the core of First Tee identity and essential to our continued success as an organization. The purpose of increasing diversity is to ensure it is part of the fabric of our organizational culture in all aspects of the business. This is not a project, program or series of events, but an expression of who we are and an intentional process to ensure that our mission is fulfilled.
