Giving Activity

Mission

Visual Communication, in general, is misunderstood and many people within the visual arts "stumbled" into it after forming an interest in fine arts. It can be a difficult discussion when talented students float the idea of studying visual arts in college. Parents may discourage talented students from continuing in this direction because they are unfamiliar with the many career possibilities. Through scholarships, awards and educational events the DSVC Foundation seeks to help assist high school seniors and undergraduate college students who wish to pursue a career in the visual arts by providing aid to help with the financial college burden.

Needs

We believe that the visual communications industry is strengthened by diverse voices and that creativity flourishes when barriers to participation are removed. We strive to create an environment in which designers, writers, photographers, illustrators, educators, students, and creative professionals can connect, learn, and grow regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, socioeconomic status, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
