The sanctuary is open to all visitors. The children seem to connect more to the mini horses and donkeys, they aren't so Intimidated by their size, but they also see the larger horses are just as gentle.
Our Needs
Last year I thought I completed entering North Texas Giving Day but unfortunately, I didn't so we missed out on generous donations. Last 2 years I have bought more land for more rescues. We have built 3 horse and donkeys sheds all with awning, a large duck coup with a shed and large covered deck attached. Had doors installed on the donkey shed. We have rescued 6 more donkeys and 3 mini mules. (unfortunately, one of the baby donkeys died one day after arriving due to malnutrition). We had 5 donkeys castrated. We also just had 3 new baby donkeys born (was not planned), Landon, Brie, Mylo. I've also rescued a dog that was dumped close to the property and two stray cats. I've also adopted 2 rescue guinea pigs. Makes a total of 27 horses and donkeys, 37 ducks, 3 dogs, 2 guinea pigs, 2 cats and a rabbit. Sadly, to say earlier in the year we lost "Becca", the last of the three sister guinea pigs, we lost sweet "Dolly", our older donkey on May 27th, and we lost "Star", our beautiful large draft horse on Sept. 10th. My goal is to purchase a trailer so we can get them to the vet before it's too late. It's hard to get a vet out there when there is an emergency.
The last two years have been a very busy, satisfying, grateful and expensive year getting everything set up for the animals. Donations are "very" much needed and appreciated! All donations are spent "exclusively" for the care and maintenance of the animals.
