Our students and alumni serve in over 80 countries, including among US refugee populations, and work in over 500 language projects around the world.
We are:
--engaging in community literacy initiatives in Papua New Guinea
--teaching communities in Nigeria to celebrate their art forms
--catalyzing interfaith dialogue in the Middle East
--documenting endangered languages in Indonesia
--training students for community development among Deaf populations
--creating language and acculturation tools for refugees right here in the Metroplex
and much more. DIU is making an impact among marginalized and underresourced communities for generations to come.
The mission of Dallas International University, as an institution of higher education, is to provide education and research opportunities leading to degrees in applied linguistics, culture studies, and development of languages. This education equips our alumni to serve marginalized people groups around the world.
The Victor Bashon Jackson I Scholarship was established in honor of Pastor Vic Jackson, the first African American to be part of the senior staff of Dallas International University. The first two, full-tuition scholarships were awarded in 2022.
DIU is raising additional funds for another Victor Bashon Jackson I Scholarships to be awarded to an African American student in Fall 2023. Please join us on NTX GIVING DAY to raise $24,000 for this exciting opportunity. Generous donors are providing $9,500 in matching funds so you can DOUBLE the impact of your gift!
