World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth

We are the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth. Since 1951, the Council has been the preeminent Dallas institution encouraging citizens to understand, engage and become involved in international affairs. We do this through public programming, educational programs throughout North Texas, a partnership with the State Department’s International Visitor Program, and much more. None of our work is possible without your support. 

Our Needs

Your support:

• Enables over 6000 students and nearly 1000 teachers to hear from world-class speakers.  
• Equips teachers with knowledge and curricula to address gaps in their students’ educations, to prepare them for an increasingly interconnected and rapidly changing world. 
• Connects experts to classrooms around North Texas, teaching students critical skills like media literacy, global competence, and civil discourse.   
• Drives engagement on global issues in our community, building common ground in a changing world. 

As students return to school and fall programming takes shape, can we count on your gift? 

$60 sends one student to a speaker event, where they sit face-to-face with a world leader and realize their own voice belongs on that same global stage.

$150 fuels the 1st place art prize, celebrating the students who paint, draw and design their vision of a more connected world.

$250 secures a bus for a group of students who otherwise couldn’t attend a program, because a ride should never be the reason a future leader misses their moment.

$500 provides a meal for students from our top 10 Junior World Affairs Councils so they can gather, share a meal, and build the friendships that carry them into global citizenship.

$1,000 funds one Global Gateway Grant, opening a door to a life-changing opportunity for one of our top three students.
