Mission

The Dallas - Fort Worth Tuskegee Alumni Club (DFWTAC) is one of the 80 chapters of the Tuskegee National Alumni Association (TNAA). As part of the Southwest Region of National Alumni Associations, DFWTAC is composed of Tuskegee University alumni and associates who reside and work in the Dallas - Fort Worth metroplex. We are business professionals, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, and proud alumni of Tuskegee Institute/Tuskegee University.

The mission of the Dallas-Fort Worth Tuskegee Alumni Club is to foster a sense of community among Tuskegee University alumni in the DFW area while upholding Tuskegee University's values of scholarship, leadership, and service. We strive to ensure that the spirit of Tuskegee lives on in the DFW community.

The purpose of the Dallas - Fort Worth Tuskegee Alumni Club is to promote and encourage support for the general goals and objectives of the Tuskegee National Alumni Association; encourage participation in and support of Tuskegee University, TNAA, and Southwest Region activities; and improve alumni support for Tuskegee University through fundraising, educational information and services, student recruitment, student aid, leadership and local alumni unity of purpose.

Needs

We have 3 standing scholarship opportunities for students. The scholarship amount awarded is contingent upon funds raised during DFWTAC's fiscal year.

1) DFWTAC Scholarship - this merit-based scholarship is awarded to DFW area graduating seniors who will be incoming freshmen at Tuskegee University in the upcoming semester.

2) Dora Joyner Legacy Scholarship - this need-based scholarship is awarded to current students experiencing a crisis that could adversely affect their enrollment, semester completion, or graduation.

3) Semester Book Scholarships - this merit-based scholarship is awarded in the Fall and Spring semesters to current students who need assistance paying for books, fees, and supplies required for the semester.

In addition to awarding scholarships, we offer emergency financial assistance to students, provide semester care packages, and support and assistance to students who contact DFWTAC. Our greatest need is for additional funds to match the increasing requests for financial assistance from our students.
