Denton Freedom House ministries has many facets:
Primarily, we have Christ-centered residential discipleship programs for men and women. We believe that true and lasting change can only come from a commitment to Jesus Christ. During the time spent at our ministry, each individual will receive the teachings necessary for a healthy and God-honoring life. Basic life skills are also taught that include personal responsibility, financial management, family dynamics and restoration, interaction skills and teamwork.
Activities include: daily devotionals and Bible studies, discipleship training, work outside the ministry with our in-house businesses, Zera Coffee and Freedom Commercial Services LLC, to learn both life skills and behavior management, through participation and fellowship with the local church, outreach at our food pantry, and volunteer work with other local non-profits.
Admission: All prospective residents are individually screened and either accepted or denied depending on their willingness to commit to our program. An initial application and interview is required and a follow up interview onsite will determine the eligibility of the applicant. Rules and regulations of our house will be explained if accepted.
Freedom Food Pantry - In July of 2019, the Denton Freedom House adopted a food pantry, now called, Freedom Food Pantry that is serving food to 80-100 families each day. In the main throws of the pandemic last year, we served over 140+ families (20 - 25 new clients each day). The Pantry continues to operate as a drive through pantry for anyone who has need for groceries. The residents in our discipleship program are now able to serve food to the community and give back. Our pantry is open Monday through Friday from 1pm -4pm. People are allowed to visit as many times as they need without limitations or restrictions due to residency. We are seeing people and families find the physical and spiritual food that they need to live. Praise God! We are here to be a light in our communities, to teach and to show the love that was first shown to us.
