When a suicide happens, a family shouldn't have to face what comes next alone.

In the hours after a suicide, families are often overwhelmed with grief, questions, difficult decisions, and circumstances no one is prepared to navigate. Because when someone's world has just changed forever, simply knowing they don't have to face the next few hours alone can mean everything!

That's when the Denton County LOSS Team shows up.

LOSS (Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors) brings together suicide-loss survivors and mental health professionals to provide compassionate support, practical resources, and connection during the immediate aftermath of a suicide and throughout the difficult months that follow.

Since 2015, more than 2,000 people in our community have received support from LOSS.

• $10 can put a grief resource into the hands of a child trying to understand a devastating loss.
• $25 can provide grief resources for an adult navigating life after suicide loss.
• $50 can help provide safety resources, including gun safes and medication disposal pouches, to families in our community.
• $100 can help a family with professional scene clean-up after a suicide.
• $250 can help provide comfort and resources to multiple families during some of their most difficult days.
