Who We Are
The Commerce Food Pantry is a volunteer-operated, community-supported nonprofit and an agency partner of the North Texas Food Bank. We provide groceries and personal care items to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. Our pantry is located at First Presbyterian Church, 1216 Monroe Street, Commerce.
Whom We Serve
The Commerce Food Pantry provides food assistance to individuals and families living in following zip codes:
> 75428-29 (Commerce and Fairlie)
> 75422 (Campbell)
> 75448 (Klondike)
> 75449 (Ladonia)
> 75469 (Pecan Gap)
Neighbors within our service area may receive food assistance once per calendar month during pantry hours on Thursdays. On average, we serve 240 households each month. Over 600 unique households have received assistance one or more times within the last 12 months.
What We Provide
The Commerce Food Pantry offers curbside distribution of pre-assembled bags of dry and canned foods, bread, and fresh produce as available. We also offer choices of frozen meat and personal care items and paper products. "Plus Personal Care" is a project started through a grant from the Hunt Regional Hospital District.
How Your Donation Helps
Your generosity ensures that households in need have access to essential items such as protein-rich foods (canned chicken, tuna, beans, and peanut butter) and personal care products (toilet paper, body soap, and dish soap). Your support comes at a critical time, as we continue to see record numbers of households served each month, including many first-time visitors.
Our mission is to source and offer nutritious, supplemental food and personal care items to neighbors in need in the Commerce, Texas area without regard to race, age, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, religious affiliation, or political view.
