We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to live a great life, and for 50 years, Clayton Youth Enrichment has been helping make that possible. As we celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2025, we are proud to reflect on a legacy that has impacted more than 100,000 families through our after-school, holiday, summer, and early childhood development programs. Today, we’re honored to welcome second- and even third-generation “Clayton Kids” into our afterschool community.
As the longest-standing nonprofit dedicated to after-school programming in Tarrant County, Clayton continues to provide a safe place for more than 7,000 children each year to learn and play while their parents finish their workday. We partner with schools to support academic success by offering homework assistance alongside hands-on enrichment activities that build confidence, creativity, and real-world skills. In addition to academic support, our programs foster teamwork, resilience, and social-emotional skills that help children thrive throughout their lives.
To keep our programs accessible, we actively seek grant funding, individual donations, and community partnerships that allow us to offer free or discounted after-school care at qualifying schools. Our free programs are made possible by 21st Century Community Learning Center grants, private philanthropy, and our partnerships with Fort Worth After School, Crowley ISD, and the City of Fort Worth.
In 2021, we expanded our impact beyond school campuses by opening the Clayton Community Center – Panola, in partnership with Trinity Basin Preparatory. Located in Fort Worth’s Meadowbrook, Stop 6, and Polytechnic neighborhoods, the center offers a welcoming space for job seekers, adult learners, and local families to gather, grow, and connect. It serves as a hub for academic enrichment, job search assistance, community workshops, and more.
At Clayton, we understand that financial hardships, such as job loss or health emergencies, can create barriers for families. That’s why we offer scholarships at our fee-based sites and partner with both public agencies and private donors to provide long-term financial support. We are also proud to offer discounts to those who serve our community, including teachers and military personnel.
As we look ahead to the next 50 years, Clayton Youth Enrichment remains committed to providing the highest quality programs that keep children safe, engaged, and prepared for a bright future. We invite you to explore our new 50th Anniversary website to read impact stories, learn about upcoming celebration events, and discover ways you can support our mission through sponsorships and giving.
"Clayton fills a need for families with young children by being a trusted, reliable partner they can rely on to keep their children safe before or after school and on those days when school is closed, but adults still have to work. But our focus doesn’t end there. Clayton programs teach important skills like healthy communication, self-management, goal setting, and good decision-making. Clayton Kids have guidance to not only help them be better students, but to prepare them to be successful wherever their life path takes them." ~ Jason Ray, Clayton Youth Enrichment CEO
Mission
Our goal is to prepare children to live great lives. We are committed to serving communities of North Texas by providing quality programs that foster the educational and social development of children, youth, and families.
Needs
As government funding faces potential cuts and families continue to feel the impact of inflation, many in Tarrant County are struggling to make ends meet. This uncertainty has led to a record number of scholarship applications from parents seeking safe, reliable, and enriching child care for their children.
Your support makes a direct and meaningful difference. Every donation helps Clayton continue to offer scholarships and discounted care for families experiencing financial hardship — ensuring that children have a safe place to learn, grow, and thrive while their parents work.
This year, our goal is to raise $5,000 during North Texas Giving Day to support our scholarship and discount fund. Your generosity helps families when they need it most:
$85 provides one week of after-school care for a child whose family is facing a job loss, health crisis, or other emergency.
$195 provides a full week of summer day camp so parents can work knowing their child is safe and engaged in fun, educational activities.
$300 covers six weeks of supplies for hands-on Science and Engineering lessons in one after-school program.
Together, we can make sure no child is turned away due to financial hardship. Thank you for supporting Clayton Youth Enrichment.
