Our mission is shelter diversion = keeping cats in their homes with their loving families and avoiding surrender to shelters. We provide an expansive digital library of resources, with free access to anyone. We offer virtual consultations to diagnose what might be causing cats to behave the way they do and help modify that behavior with a treatment plan. Cat Behavior Solutions also works with shelters across the country to implement cat enrichment, educating staff and volunteers of cats' needs, and training how to transform fearful cats to friendly adoptable ones.

Our Needs

Cat Behavior solutions relies wholly on monetary donations to educate the public and help alleviate behavior issues, which are the #1 cause of death in cats in the U.S. We produce a weekly cat education podcast called Cat Talk Radio, informational webinars, video how-tos on YouTube, and free counseling to keep cats in their home. Please consider these statistics before you rehome or take your cat to the shelter:
There are 88 million pet cats (vs. 75M dogs). There are +40 million homeless cats and 10 million are surrendered to shelters annually. Unfortunately, 75% of these will never be adopted; the vast majority are euthanized. Shelter euthanasia is the #1 cause of death in cats in the U.S.

Mission

Cat Behavior Solutions reduces rehoming through behavior education and training, reducing the number of cats coming into shelters. Through behavior consultations and a weekly podcast called Cat Talk Radio, we teach cats' guardians how to modify unwanted behavior, and how to understand and co-exist mutually, with what's instinctive/unchangeable. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for cats and the people cohabiting with them. We offer counseling solutions, products, enrichment toys, services, etc., to improve communication between cats and their guardians. We share training plans that really work!

Needs

Cat Behavior Solutions is doing important cat work - and there are many ways you can help!

As long as people are surrendering cats to shelters for behavior problems, we will be working hard to disseminate information that will help to modify unwanted behaviors and make living with cats more rewarding!

Cat Behavior Solutions is 100% donor funded. Donations raised will fund rescue, safe housing, medical care, supplies, and more to save the lives of cats in danger.
