Located in the heart of Fort Worth's Cultural District, Casa Mañana produces Broadway-caliber theatre, intimate cabaret performances, Children's Theatre productions, and year-round performing arts education programs. Behind each production is a collaborative team of professional actors, directors, designers, musicians, technicians, and artisans who transform artistic vision into a fully realized theatrical experience through scenery, costumes, choreography, lighting, projections, and live music. This commitment to artistic excellence strengthens the Cultural District, supports Texas' creative workforce, and creates meaningful connections between artists, audiences, and the community.

STITCHED & STYLED: THE COSTUME AND MAKEUP TEAM

Costume Designer and Wardrobe Supervisor Tammy Spencer and Hair, Wigs & Makeup artist Cat Petty-Rogers have a combined 45 years of experience with Casa Mañana between them — Tammy and her team building nearly every costume on our stage by hand for 26 years, and Cat growing up around the theatre alongside her own father before leading its hair and makeup artistry today. Nothing goes to waste on their watch: the blood-stained dresses from Carrie were reborn as costumes for Grease. What audiences see in two hours took two teams, hundreds of hours, and a closet full of history to build.

Tammy S.: "So many people do not understand that we build a lot of our costumes and at one time Casa rented a lot... but it's just much easier for us to build because then we can turn around and we can recycle these costumes into other things."

FROM THE GROUND UP: THE SCENE SHOP

Shop Foreman Todd Mika and Technical Director AJ Kellison lead a team that designs and builds every set piece from the ground up. This season alone, that means raising Rapunzel's tower, conjuring a swamp for Shrek, and bringing a snow-covered London to life for A Christmas Carol — all designed and constructed in house, then loaded, struck, and hauled back out, because Casa builds off-site and brings the show to you instead of housing it permanently. That's the kind of creative freedom you only get when you build it yourself instead of renting it off a truck.

Todd M.: "I love the experience of watching shows because I love the experience of knowing how much work goes into it... it can be extremely moving."

AJ K.: "Casa is a self-producing theatre. Everything is built here locally. All material is sourced here locally. What you’re seeing on stage at Casa is local to Casa."

THE UNDERSOLD HERO: PROPS

Props Master Mike Sabourin and Props Artisan Brady Flock — a returning artisan who left Casa and came back — build the objects that bring every scene to life. They age, weather, and sculpt each piece by hand. It's the detail an audience may never notice, but they'll always feel it. That craftsmanship has given the artists behind it something rare in this industry: a career they can build a life on. Mike has married, bought a house, and started a family since taking the job — stability he says is unusual for this line of work.

Brady F.: "Casa is great because we're creating these big shows and these environments and these lived experiences for people... we're bringing in kids who are seeing shows and then talking about it 30 years later."

Mike S.: "Casa Mañana is a really special place for working artists like me and Brady. It's provided a level of production and a level of sustainability that is pretty unique in the theatre world."
