The doors are open – let’s fill them with hope

This fall marks a defining moment in Casa del Lago’s story. After years of faithful service in Bachman Lake, we’re opening the doors of a new facility designed to welcome more families, equip more students, and strengthen our community in deeper ways than ever.

But bricks and walls don’t change lives. What fills this new building – teachers, mentors, programs, and the power of Christ-centered community – depends on people like you.

The Vicente Family: From frustration to growth

Mr. Rudy Vicente first heard about Casa del Lago through a friend when his family felt stuck. They wanted to help their son with reading, but lacked the tools. Casa offered a path forward.

Together, the Vicentes joined English classes and summer programs. They found belonging, resources, and a community that walks alongside them.

Mr. Vicente gained confidence using English at work, and his son is motivated to keep improving his reading. One word he uses to describe Casa: growth.

Their story mirrors thousands across Dallas who are ready to grow academically, spiritually, and emotionally. The new facility means even more families can write stories like this.

A New Era of Impact

Our new headquarters is more than a building – it’s the next step in a legacy of service. With expanded classrooms and program space, Casa can welcome nearly double the number of families each year, growing from 49 to almost 100. This expansion opens the door to bigger dreams: GED preparation, financial literacy, and whole-family programming that equips parents and children together.

Why Now

Casa serves a community in a city where:

  • 23% of Dallas’s population is immigrant (52.6% of the Bachman Lake community!)

  • 42% of households speak languages other than English (78.8% in the Bachman Lake community!)

  • 100,000+ immigrants face communication barriers at work, stores, and schools

  • 1 in 4 people keeping our city moving forward are immigrants

Families like the Vicentes aren’t looking for a handout – they’re seeking tools to grow, contribute, and thrive.

Your Role in What Comes Next

Your gift on North Texas Giving Day will be matched dollar for dollar, doubling your impact for children and parents ready to learn, grow, and thrive. Every ESL class taught, every child encouraged, every family equipped starts with community-powered investment.

Together, we can ensure this new chapter isn’t only about opening doors, but about filling them with hope, opportunity, and Christ-centered transformation that lasts for generations.

Mission

Our mission is to serve the Bachman Lake community with quality, faith-based educational programs and counseling to equip families to face the educational, spiritual, and material challenges in their lives.

We show the love of Jesus Christ to the Bachman Lake community through early childhood education, elementary school literacy, adult education, and pastoral counseling.

Needs

More than ever, we need your support so we can continue to serve families with our quality educational programs. We want to prepare children for Kindergarten by getting them school ready in our Early Childhood Education program, get elementary students reading at grade level in After School Reading, and equip adults with the language skills necessary to be successful in Adult Education. Friendships, a strong sense of community, and pastoral counseling services are also part of helping students at Casa del Lago achieve their goals inside and outside of the classroom.

Your support makes all this possible.

Your partnership is vital to this work!
