About Us
When severe child abuse is reported, a child goes to one place: a children's advocacy center. Children's Advocacy Center for North Texas provides case coordination for the investigation and prosecution of severe child abuse cases (severe physical abuse, sexual abuse, human trafficking, and witnesses to death or violence) in Denton County and, as of January 2020, in Wise County. Our goals are to minimize the trauma the child victim and their family experience as they go through the investigative process, and to facilitate a collaborative investigation. In addition to case coordination, we provide family advocacy services to help families with any needs that may arise during their case, as well as evidence-based, trauma-informed counseling for the victim and their non-offending family members.
There is no cost to families for any service.
All of these wraparound services are provided in one place: the Advocacy Center, to reduce the trauma a victim experiences and mitigate the consequences of child abuse in a victim's life. By responding to child abuse victims and restoring their potential, we are creating safer, healthier communities.

We offer childcare to all families receiving services to remove barriers. When a caregiver meets with an investigator, family advocate, or therapist, they don't have to worry about finding and paying for a babysitter.
We also help families without reliable transportation get to their counseling appointments.
