About Us
In 1982, the directors of All Saints Health System realized that to guarantee the future of care at All Saints, a new entity was needed. With a generous gift from the Ella C. McFadden Charitable Trust, All Saints Health Foundation was created.
Today, All Saints Health Foundation maintains more than $43 million in endowed funds and $13 million in temporarily restricted funds. In the last five years the Foundation has funded more than $32 million in capital improvements, equipment, staff education and other Medical Center needs. The Foundation continues to build partnerships with individuals, foundations, and corporations, all of whom have an extraordinary devotion to Fort Worth and the care and concerns of its citizens.
Music Therapy Program
When someone is facing a serious illness or undergoing a difficult hospital stay, comfort and healing can come in many forms. For many patients and families, the calming power of music provides emotional support, reduces stress, and creates a sense of connection during some of life’s most challenging moments.
At Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center – Fort Worth, the Arts in Medicine program brings music and the performing arts into the hospital environment to promote healing and improve the quality of life for patients, caregivers, and visitors. This unique program, sustained entirely by philanthropy, offers both individualized Music Therapy sessions and community-based performances through its Artist-in-Residence program.
Our two board-certified Music Therapists use evidence-based techniques to support the emotional, cognitive, physical, and social needs of patients of all ages. Each session is tailored to a patient’s individual goals, whether that means using music to manage pain, ease anxiety, improve mood, or provide comfort at the end of life. In some cases, patients may play or write music alongside the therapist; in others, music may simply provide a sense of calm.
Last year, our two Music Therapists provided 874 patient sessions, facilitated 71 heartbeat recordings for end-of-life memory making, and created 148 heartbeat teddy bears for grieving families to help preserve deeply personal legacies for those experiencing loss.
How You Can Make a Difference
Music Therapy sessions are offered at no cost to patients and are not reimbursed by insurance. It is only through the generosity of donors that the Arts in Medicine program can continue to bring healing, comfort, and human connection to those in our care. Please consider making a donation to ensure more patients heal through the power of music.
