Best Buddies mission of inclusion began in Texas in 1993, more than doubling its impact over the past 3 years despite the challenges of the endemic. Enhancing the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) through one-to-one friendships and leadership development will positively impact over 3,000 lives in the DFW Metroplex this year. Best Buddies programs sit on three key mission pillars: One-To-One Friendships, Integrated Employment and Leadership Development. In late 2017, Best Buddies Texas launched the Jobs (Supported Employment) Program in the Dallas/Ft. Worth market. The Jobs Program matches skilled, qualified individuals with IDD with businesses seeking enthusiastic and dedicated employees. Through the Jobs program, Best Buddies develops partnerships with employers, assists with the hiring process and provides ongoing support to the employee and employer.
Best Buddies is devoted solely to providing opportunities and fostering friendship and inclusion for individuals with and without Intellectually and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).
Best Buddies DFW welcomes companies and individuals to volunteer and assist us with building awareness of our mission through the North Texas region, serving on event planning and fundraising committees, and execution of our annual events.
Best Buddies International is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, inclusive living, and family support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
