Ballet Ensemble of Texas

A nonprofit organization

The Ballet Ensemble of Texas was chartered in May 2001, with the mission of presenting quality ballet performances for local communities and to train pre-professional students for careers in dance. It is the official company of the Ballet Academy of Texas in Coppell.   Since its inception, in addition to The Nutcracker, the Ballet Ensemble has presented ambitious spring performances to the Dallas/Fort Worth area, dancing or premiering works by highly noted choreographers, and full-length works.  BET, one of Dallas' best-reviewed pre-professional ballet companies is excited about their 24th season!

This year BET will add a third production into their season: Dracula, a ballet with a bite. Presented October 29th at the Irving Arts Center, this Halloween presentation features new twists to the plot, and will also include a Blood Drive in collaboration with the Carter Blood Center October 7th (The Vein Drain"), "Drinks with Dracula" (prior to the performance), and a Fiendish Frock Fashion Fantasy (a Costume Contest for the audience at the performance.)

This year's production of the classic holiday celebration THE NUTCRACKER will be presented in four performances Dec 1-3, also at the Irving Arts Center. Updated in 2022 the production rings in the holiday season with humor, tradition, and all the splendor of the full-length ballet. Highlights include a new Party Scene, new costumes, new choreography, plus many other surprises! Over 200 young dancers from the Ballet Academy of Texas will join BET in this production.

BET will present their annual Celebration of Dance in two locations and will feature a BET premier of ALICE IN WONDERLAND. Believing very strongly in education and outreach, the company will return to the Coppell Arts Center March 29th for two Outreach Performances, with a public matinee March 30th. ALICE IN WONDERLAND & other works will be presented at the Irving Arts Center April 6th and 7th.

BET is the official performing company of the Ballet Academy of Texas and trains dancers who are recognized by prestigious pre-professional training programs across the country. Professional alumni also dance with companies around the country, including Colorado Ballet, Ballet West, Ballet Arkansas, Texas Ballet Theatre, and four former BET dancers currently performing with American Ballet Theatre, America's National Ballet Company.

As a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, the company is funded by donations, ticket sales, and is grateful to the Communities Foundation for their support. BET is also supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, Texas Commission on the Arts, and the City of Coppell. BET celebrates the opportunities to educate and entertain our surrounding communities and recognize we could not continue to do so without community support!
