A Voice for All Paws is an animal welfare organization that is an integral part of saving cats and kittens all across North Texas. From Longview to Denton to our headquarters in East Dallas and everywhere in between, we are making a huge impact by empowering people to become involved in fostering and volunteering to save lives every single day.
AVAP is 100% volunteer based and through our amazing network of volunteers, we have rescued over 700 cats in 2025 and are on track to save over 1,000 lives by December! Our volunteers work tirelessly from the day they are rescued to the day they are adopted into their forever homes, pouring love and joy into abused, abandoned, and heartbroken animals.

We are an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue based in Dallas, TX with a focus on informing and educating the community while saving animals in need: one hand, one paw, one voice.
In 2023 alone, 850,000 companion animals — over half of them cats — were euthanized in the US. Every life we save is a testament to the power of community and compassion. As of August 2024, we have saved over 3,000 cats and kittens from the streets, owner surrenders, and shelters across the state, with over 400 currently in our care. We also assist with feral cats and work with community programs to assist those in need when our time and resources allow it.
With your help, we can continue to fight against the heartbreaking reality of euthanasia and give thousands of cats a second chance. Together, we can make a lasting impact — one hand, one paw, one voice at a time.
In 2025, our greatest expense has been the medical care of the cats and kittens that we assist all over DFW. This includes microchipping, spays & neuters, and vaccinations to get our cats adoption-ready. It also includes specialized treatments necessary to save our precious rescues. In 2024 we treated kittens with feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), panleukopenia, and calicivirus. Some extreme cases have required ear tumor removals, enucleations (eye removals), mammary tumor removals, orthopedic surgeries, and amputations. We have seen some truly heartbreaking cases and have been proud to be able to provide these kitties the resources, care, and time they need to recover — we hope you will take the time to read some of our miraculous rescue stories included on this page.
In addition to these major costs, the ongoing care of the cats currently in our rescue is a significant and continual expense. With over 400 cats in our care, the cost of daily essentials like food, litter, and basic supplies quickly adds up. Every donation — whether big or small — makes a meaningful difference in ensuring these cats are safe, healthy, and comfortable while they wait for their forever homes.
Even small contributions go a long way:
• $25 provides litter for a cat for one month
• $50 feeds a kitten for an entire month
• $100 covers vaccinations and microchipping for an adoptable cat
• $250 sponsors a spay or neuter procedure
• $500 can fund lifesaving treatment for a critically ill kitten
No matter the size, your gift helps provide the day-to-day necessities that allow us to focus on what matters most — rescuing and saving more lives. Every little bit truly helps!
At our core, we believe in a world full of opportunity and free of cruelty. As an organization, we stand united in our commitment to equity, knowing that the journey to success should never be determined by one's background or circumstances. Our mission is not just about just adopting animals, but about educating and providing resources for those that lack them. We champion the cause of inclusivity and ensuring that money does not stand in the way of the love and care we are able to provide to our pets.
Through our partnership with Whiskers and Soda Cat Café, we have been proud to help provide a place of camaraderie among cat lovers in the Dallas area. The sociologist Dr. Ray Oldenburg described these types of community hubs as our “third places” — neutral gathering spots outside of our homes and places of work or school where we can engage with others socially and build a sense of community. In a post-COVID world where such spaces are increasingly rare, we have been proud to be able to contribute to this sense of community for many.
As we continue to grow into 2025 and beyond, we remain dedicated to expanding our reach and deepening our impact. Our vision is to not only rescue more cats but also to foster stronger, more compassionate communities where people of all backgrounds can connect, share, and support each other. We look forward to enhancing our educational efforts, providing more resources to underserved communities, and building partnerships that break down barriers to pet ownership. Together, with your support, we can create a future where every cat — and every person — has the opportunity to thrive.
