Thank you for taking the time to learn about Arttitude and donating to our cause for North Texas Giving Day! Arttitude, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, is dedicated to creating and supporting artistic programming for diverse LGBTQ+ and allied artists to share their creative works. We provide paid opportunities for artists who are often marginalized from mainstream creative industries to develop and showcase their craft. In addition, we produce unique chances for local audiences to engage with new and exciting art across a wide range of genres.
We curate vibrant programs and events that center on the experiences of LGBTQ+ persons of color, immigrants, and gender non-conforming individuals. This is done to broaden the public’s perceptions of what “queer” art, identity, and community might look like. We believe that a diversity of perspectives is necessary for envisioning a more just world. Art has a unique capacity to create spaces for meaningful dialogue concerning critical issues that affect our communities.
Arttitude’s support of artists and their creative productions impacts our communities in literal and creative ways. Your donation today would help enrich the lives, experiences, and art of artists in our community. Won’t you help our cause? You are one click away from changing the life of an artist who could help change this world. As a 501©(3) charitable organization, EIN 81-3396249, your contributions today on North Texas Giving Day are tax deductible.
Our Needs
Your generous donation received on North Texas Giving Day will empower Arttitude to expand the following programs and events that benefit unrepresented Queer artists
I. MariconX: an ART CONCEPT that creates a safe space for local LGBTQIA Latinx artists to share their art and create dialogue regarding issues that are affecting their communities.
II. Transpose Undocumented Documentary: This film documentary series explores the challenges and triumphs of transgender people. The series documents their lives as they confront stereotypes, celebrate their community, and recognize the myriad of struggles as they go through as they navigate their daily lives. Here we have a collection of powerful stories of individuals who choose to determine the course of their life, regardless of the difficult path of transition. Arttitude will produce a third documentary focused on the experience of trans and non-binary undocumented people living in U.S. The documentary will highlight the challenges faced by people living in the shadows. It will highlight that for transgender immigrants living at the intersection of being transgender and being undocumented, their fight for survival is not over when they cross the border.
III. Women's Art Culture (W.A.C.): These enriching showcases consist of Black LGBTQ+ & Ally Women poets and visual artists. The works given speak to issues of identity, culture, religion, media, politics, social climates, and sexual and gender identity.
IV. Pay It No Mind and Outloud Scholarships: The purpose of this award is to support creative LGBTQIA2+, allied students and adult learners on their educational paths.
V. C.A.R.E.S. (Connection through Art, Representation, Education, and Strength) Program: This program creates opportunities for artistic and community engagement on important topics related to HIV/AIDS. Our goals are to:
1) Increase access to and engagement with Prism Health North Texas healthcare providers and their teams
2) Enhancing trust in Prism Health North Texas providers and their teams
3) Reducing the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS
4) Elevating the voices of people living with HIV/AIDS
