Your generosity to the Amon Carter Museum of American Art helps us preserve and share stories of American art—stories that inspire, connect, and strengthen our community today and for generations to come.
The Carter proudly offers free admission to all visitors, welcoming everyone to explore our galleries, experience world-class exhibitions, and discover new perspectives through art. From iconic American artists like Mary Cassatt and Edward Hopper to modern visionaries like Ruth Asawa and Gabriel Dawe, there’s something for everyone at the Carter. Each visit offers a fresh perspective and the chance to discover something new.
We are excited to announce that Ambassador Council Member Mac McGinnis has generously pledged $5,000 for a dollar-for-dollar matching challenge in support of the Carter for North Texas Giving Day! We are deeply grateful for Mac's support and hope that it inspires you to make a gift to support our mission.
Your support fuels what happens beyond the galleries: vibrant events, innovative research, and hands-on learning experiences that invite people of all ages and abilities into a space where they can see themselves reflected, challenged, and inspired. Together, we can ensure the Carter remains a place where everyone belongs and where American art continues to spark connection and curiosity for years to come.
Impact Highlights - 2024
The Amon Carter Museum of American Art was established through the generosity of Amon G. Carter Sr. (1879–1955) to house his collection of paintings and sculpture by Frederic Remington and Charles M. Russell. Our mission: to collect, preserve, and exhibit the finest examples of American art; and to serve all communities through exhibitions, publications, and experiences devoted to the celebration of American creativity.
Gifts to the Carter allow the Museum to share outstanding American art across our community. Your contribution helps to support special exhibitions; education and access events for schoolchildren, families, and adults; and the care and presentation of the Carter's renowned collection.
By giving to the Carter, you contribute to our goal of collecting, preserving, and exhibiting the finest American art while providing exceptional opportunities for cultural engagement to people of all ages and backgrounds. You also support the Museum's commitment to representing the diversity of American art and artists.
The Museum is committed to service to the common good; the ideals of respect, integrity, honesty, and courage; the belief that ours is a museum for all; and the pursuit of diversity, equity, access, and inclusion (DEAI) in the museum field.
