AIDS OUTREACH CENTER INC.

A nonprofit organization

Our Roots, Our Mission, Our Momentum

AIDS Outreach Center (AOC) was born out of compassion, urgency, and community resilience. In 1986, at the height of the AIDS epidemic, a small group of volunteers in Fort Worth came together to provide comfort and dignity to individuals facing the end of life—many of whom had been abandoned by their families, communities, and the health care system. What began as a grassroots response to a public health crisis has grown into the largest and most comprehensive AIDS service organization in Tarrant County.

Over nearly four decades, AOC has evolved in step with the changing landscape of HIV care. From the early days of hospice and emotional support to today’s integrated model of prevention, treatment, and long-term care, our commitment has remained steadfast: to serve people living with or at risk for HIV with dignity, respect, and unwavering support.

Our mission is rooted in compassion and driven by results. We work to remove barriers to care—whether they be financial, geographic, or rooted in fear or misunderstanding. We believe that everyone deserves access to high-quality, affirming health services, regardless of their background or circumstances. We meet people where they are, offering practical solutions and personalized support to help them move forward with confidence and hope.

AOC supports prevention and care services for more than 1,600 individuals and their families across diverse backgrounds. As the primary nonprofit hub for HIV/AIDS support in Tarrant County and seven surrounding rural counties, AOC houses a range of programs and staff, collaborating with partner organizations to deliver comprehensive services to the community.

Our vision is bold and clear: HIV stops with us. Every program, every partnership, and every person we serve brings us one step closer to a world without HIV.

Needs

***OLDER ADULTS LIVING WITH HIV ARE BEING FORGOTTEN. WE'RE HERE TO CHANGE THAT***

At AOC, we serve long-term survivors—individuals who lived through the early HIV epidemic and now face the compounded challenges of aging, isolation, and stigma. Many have lost entire communities and still carry the trauma of those years. Today, they often face these struggles alone.

OUR RESPONSE: SEASONED SURVIVORS

Our Community Empowerment Project, anchored by the Seasoned Survivors program, provides a safe, affirming space for older adults living with HIV. It’s a warm “club house” environment offering:

• Free, culturally responsive support services

• Trauma-informed care

• Wellness activities that restore joy and purpose

This isn’t just a senior center—it’s a place where stigma is dismantled, healing begins, and people are reminded they matter.

WHY YOUR GIFT MATTERS

The need is growing. Many of our clients have no family support and face deep isolation—especially post-COVID.

Your donation helps us:

• Combat isolation and stigma

• Provide safe spaces for healing and connection

• Restore dignity and community for those aging with HIV

JOIN US: DONATE TODAY to uplift lives, honor survival, and ensure no one aging with HIV is left behind.

*** BLACK WOMEN AND HIV: A CHALLENGE WE CAN OVERCOME TOGETHER***

In Tarrant County, Black women continue to face some of the highest risks for HIV—often while navigating stigma, limited resources, and systemic barriers. These challenges don’t just affect health; they impact families and entire communities. At AIDS Outreach Center, we believe every woman deserves access to prevention education, life-saving tools, and compassionate care. That’s why we created Hey Sis!—a program designed by and for Black women to provide culturally affirming support, HIV prevention resources like PrEP and testing, and a safe space to thrive.

OUR RESPONSE: BUILDING TRUST, BREAKING BARRIERS

Hey Sis! is more than a program—it’s a movement of empowerment. We provide free HIV testing, PrEP navigation, and wellness workshops that address mental health, self-care, and stigma. Our team meets women where they are, creating a safe, affirming space where they feel seen, valued, and supported.

WHY YOUR GIFT MATTERS: YOU HOLD THE KEY TO CHANGE

Your generosity fuels hope. Every dollar helps us reach more women with life-saving education, prevention kits, and access to care. For many, your gift is the difference between fear and confidence, between isolation and community. Together, we can ensure that no woman faces HIV alone.

JOIN US: BE PART OF HER STORY

This is your chance to make a lasting impact. When you give, you’re not just supporting a program—you’re standing with Black women, breaking cycles of stigma, and building healthier futures. Donate today. Share our mission. Be the change she needs.
