At a Wish with Wings, we’ve seen firsthand how the power of a wish can light up the lives of children facing life-threatening medical conditions. A wish is more than just a moment of joy; it’s a spark of hope that fuels the courage to fight for a brighter future. Hope can be a powerful healing source and a child who still believes in the power of hope can have the expectation of a better tomorrow! Since 1982, we have granted over 2,000 Wishes to young Texans facing uncertain futures. That's a lot of hope, joy and healing!
Beyond the Wish – Ongoing Support for Wish Families
At a Wish with Wings, we know that the journey doesn’t end with the granting of a wish. We continue to stand by our Wish Kids and their families, offering support, encouragement, and care long after the wish has been fulfilled. Through regular check-ins, special events, and a community of compassion, we help ensure that the magic and hope of a wish continue to uplift and inspire our Wish Families as they navigate their medical journeys.
Meet-8-year-old Savy
8-year-old Savy was diagnosed with leukemia in July of 2024 and is scheduled to complete his treatment in September ... just in time for North Texas Giving Day. He lives in Arlington, TX with his father, two sisters, and big brother. Sadly, Savy's mom passed away from cancer three short months before he received his own cancer diagnosis. The memory of his mom is something he holds onto dearly. His nurses at Cook Children's said that during some his toughest procedures, he still cries out for her. Big sister is now his caretaker and helps out her father tremendously by taking Savy to all his appointments, while his big brother watches him at home so that dad can continue work and earn a living for the family. And, like any eight-year-old boy, Savy's favorite thing to do is play! He likes to play Roblox, Fortnite, Minecraft, and just play outside. The first wish on his application was for a family trip to Disney World in central Florida ... and he was thrilled to find out that not only was his wish coming true, but he would also have a chance to meet and spend time at Disney World with MrBeast himself!

Our wings were inspired by a butterfly – but they started with a big bird.
This year, we’re celebrating 44 years giving wings to the wishes of over 2,000 Texas children bravely fighting life-threatening medical conditions.
Founded in 1982, a Wish with Wings was Texas’ first wish-granting agency. The very first wish we granted was a Big Bird backyard playset for 5-year-old Johnny M, and that was only the beginning of a long line of magical moments in the lives of these inspiring children.
From literally hundreds of Disney World family vacations, Hawaii and beach trips, computers, backyard playsets, and shopping sprees, a Wish with Wings has been sharing the gifts of hope, happiness, and promise to children across the state of Texas, and especially right here in and around Fort Worth and Dallas!
Help celebrate more than 2,000 Magical Wishes granted by making a meaningful year-end gift. Last year was one of our biggest years ever, with 71 wishes granted. 2026 will be even bigger with more than 40 Wishes already granted just through the summer!
