The students in the Youth Symphony of Denton love music and want to spend more time learning about and creating beautiful music.  In the Youth Symphony, we see music as a language and teach students to use this language to communicate with the world around them.    Music brings joy and happiness, helps people process the more powerful emotions, and brings a sense of accomplishment as students master more difficult repertoire.

Choosing to give financially to the Youth Symphony of Denton, no matter how large or small, will enable more students to participate in one of our three ensembles.  We have seen an increase in the need for scholarships this year as families try to deal with the rising costs around them.  We will never allow lack of funding to be the reason a student cannot participate in our organization, even when it takes money away from other needed areas.  Your gift could help us provide for more scholarship students.  Please consider giving to us of this designated giving day.  Your gift is greatly appreciated!

Mission

The purpose of the Youth Symphony of Denton is to provide an exceptional musical environment, where talented youth can gather once a week to pursue deeper musical studies. These students are given the opportunity to perform more difficult repertoire than they might see in their school orchestras. They are challenged to think about music in new and different ways and will become more advanced in their musical abilities.

The Youth Symphony goals are: * To develop more musical performers * To challenge students with increasingly difficult music * To encourage their ownership of the program by assisting where needed * To develop leaders of the future who see the importance of classical music in the world.

Needs

The tuition we raise covers about 60% of our operating costs each year, so we are tasked with finding the remaining 40% from generous donors and businesses in our area.
