About Youth Believing in Change
For over 30 years, Youth Believing in Change (YBC) has been rooted in the Vickery Meadow community, providing children with the spiritual and educational foundation they need to thrive. What began in 1995 with Bible stories, Bigfoot pizza, and Dr. Seuss books in parks and vacant apartments has grown into a vibrant, multi-site ministry reaching hundreds of students and families each year.
YBC empowers students to excel academically, improve test scores, maintain strong GPAs, and graduate high school at a 100% rate. Many go on to attend top universities such as Baylor, SMU, NYU, UT Austin, and Texas A&M Commerce, or serve in the U.S. Armed Forces. Several alumni have earned graduate degrees from schools like Perkins School of Theology and Dallas Theological Seminary. Today, the children of former YBC students are being raised within the YBC community—living proof of a lasting legacy of faith and opportunity.
Last year alone, YBC enrolled 265 children at its main site, served 60,000 meals, reached 1,500 more through quarterly events, and mobilized over 500 volunteers—including reading mentors, teen leaders, and service-minded families.
In 2022, YBC was gifted a one-acre site in the heart of Vickery Meadow, where over 7,500 school-aged children reside. Construction is underway to create a permanent home that will allow for expanded outreach.
Together, we’re changing lives—one child, one meal, one moment at a time.
This North Texas Giving Day, your gift helps YBC continue this life-changing work—and build for the future. Join us in giving children the hope, support, and opportunity they deserve.
