YOUTH COMMUNITY THEATER
The Young Actors Guild McKinney was founded in the Spring of 2009 to bring a comprehensive and affordable theater experience to the young people of Collin County and the surrounding area. We believe that theater should be accessible to everyone, therefore our organization strives to be financially inclusive by keeping annual membership dues as low as possible.
Annual dues include workshops that are offered on a monthly basis, covering a broad range of theater-related topics from character work to lighting design. We also put on three to four productions every year, which reflect many different types of theater.
Perhaps most uniquely, we offer young people a chance to get involved in the leadership and operation of the organization with its annually elected Youth Board, which is responsible for managing most programmatic decisions, with the assistance and guidance of the Adult Board.
Your donation to us during North Texas Giving Day allows us to continue our mission of sharing theater education and performance with all interested youth.
Mission
Young Actors Guild McKinney is organized for the purpose of training and education in all aspects of theatre production and management and to be recognized as a significant cultural asset by the local community.
Needs
Running Young Actors Guild McKinney relies on donations from the community, in addition to ticket sales and grants. We appreciate our donors that allow us to continue to make theater accessible to all youth!
Our costs include, but are not limited to the following:
* Performance rights from the publisher
* Costs for scripts, set builds, props, costumes, for every show
* Rent for rehearsal spaces, tech week, and performance spaces
* Storage unit rental for set and costuming pieces
* Director stipends
* Workshop leader stipends
